Witch Doctor becomes Church Planter!
Lal S. use to be a strong Hindu and well known witch Doctor in North Delhi, India. One day, one of our CLC leaders in Delhi came in contact with Lal and began counseling him. God began working through this relationship and soon Lal committed his life to Christ and got baptized. One day while attending a bible study on Luke 10 God gave him a vision and desire to serve the Lord. He immediately began to reach out to his neighborhood and started serving people. He started discipling those who he came in touch with and quickly planted a house church in his neighborhood. Today, over 20 people attend this house church regularly. Lal continues to be trained and mentored and believes God will continue to use him to make an impact for the Kingdom! Praise God that he can turn a witch doctor into a Church Planter!
Total Transformation through Child Literacy Center
Four years ago Gena D, her husband and their six children moved to Delhi in search for better living. Gena and her family suffered a lot in Delhi. Her husband was not a skilled laborer which made finding work difficult in the urban city of New Delhi. He was able to find odd jobs that brought income for his family, but it was often not enough. The family's finances were stretched even thinner when one of their daughters became chronically ill. Most of their income was spent on her medical expenses. Gena and her husband also had concerns about the educational future of their children.
Around this time we had started a literacy center at a Delhi Slum area where Gena and her family lived. Gena joined the center as an assistant. She worked diligently and gained favor with families within the slum. Her situation started to change. Here's what she had to say, "After joining the literacy project of your team, I always felt the warm family atmosphere. My family situation has changed now and the leaders have prayed for my daughter and she is now completely healed from her illness. My older son and daughter are graduating and also volunteer at the literacy center. I am no longer worried about their future. Through your counsel they have gained a better education. My family lives in peace and happiness. Above all, we found favor with the Almighty God. We use to worship idols, but now, as a family we sit together for prayer, read scripture and fellowship."
Gena's friends have noticed the change in her as well. They come to her for prayer & counseling. She is honored to be a part of what the Lord is doing through the literacy centers and is thankful for the support and encouragement of the staff.
