Church Planting

John 5:19 tells us "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does". God is indeed working in a mighty way in North India, and APII has been blessed to join God where He is working. Since 1994, we have witnessed a Church Planting Movement (CPM) in this area of the world. Over the past 18 years, over 130,000 churches have been planted representing over 6 million believers. Our Vision is to continue to serve this region so that 30 million people come to know Christ by the year 2018. At this growth rate, APII has been given a vision to see over 30 million people from North India come to Christ by the year 2018. This exponential growth and abundance of God's out-pouring is a result of a winning strategy focused on Church Planting.

Church Planting Movements (CPM)

A Church Planting Movement is defined as a rapid multiplication of indigenous

churches planting churches that sweeps through a people group or population

segment.

Here is a more quantifying definition from Victor John.

A different definition of CPM:

“When a group of new disciples begin to gather regularly and obey all the commands of Jesus a church comes into being.

When the group begins to reach out to those in their network of relationship whether blood relation, clan, ethnic, tribe or otherwise, regularly seeking those who are lost, a foundation is laid.

When new disciples from these networks begin to meet as churches and in turn reach out to new networks, a momentum is begun.

When this process is happening in a number of networks and 3rd or 4th generation churches are coming into being a CPM has started.”

Simple Church

As new believers are trained to be disciple-makers, many of them are also trained to be

church planters. They are taught to serve a community or people group and pray for the

man of peace and then teach this person or family to plant a church in that community.

Church planters are taught to give new leaders "the tools, not the rules". Each church is

given the scriptures and taught to obey them. They are not given a long set of rules that

tell them how to worship, when to worship, where to worship, what to do with their offerings,

what leadership to have, etc. They are taught to keep things as simple as possible, knowing

that replication thrives when partnered with simplicity.

Churches Planting Churches

This is the backbone behind successful Church Planting Movements. When churches

begin planting more churches growth can happen exponentially and an entire population

can be reached. Church planters are taught to continue development and encouragement

of a church until a 4th Generation Church can be seen. This principle is found in 2 Tim 2:2

as Paul (1) tells Timothy (2) to teach faithful men (3) that will teach others (4) also. When

4th generation churches can be seen, it is strong evidence that a CPM is taking place and

God is moving powerfully in a particular region.

Jesus tells us in Luke 10:2 that "the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Will you also join us in the harvest? Will you consider joining God where He is already working? Will you pray for more churches to be planted in North India? Will you consider being a financial partner of the church planting ministry? Your gift of $100 will plant a church this year, but it will be a gift that keeps on giving. That one church planted this year will plant more churches, and these churches will plant more churches.
